A. Solve the following inequalities.

  1. x2 – 2x – 8 > 0.
  2. (x2 – x – 2)(3x – 1) > 0.
  3. (2x – 10)/(x – 3) > 0.

 

Guide: Factor completely all the equations and set it to zero.

  1. x < – 2, x > 4
  2. -1 < x < 1/3, x > 2
  3. x < 3, x > 5
